Is The Zallie Community Foundation part of ShopRite?
The Zallie Community Foundation is a separate entity from ShopRite. We are a public charity.  However, we are affiliated with the Zallie-Somerset ShopRites and partner with them for in-kind donations.

My food pantry would like to participate in your Food Pantry Pick up program.
Please submit an application here and if there is an opportunity to schedule you for a pick up time slot, we will contact you.

Can I volunteer to help The Zallie Community Foundation?
Yes!  We have various opportunities for volunteers.  Visit our Volunteer page to let us know how you’d like to help.

My organization would like to set up a Food Drive at our local ShopRite.

Do you accept donations?
Yes! We accept donations and are very grateful for them! You can donate to the Zallie Community Foundation directly via this LINK.

Can I have my scout troop sell items outside my local ShopRite?
The Zallie Community Foundation is separate from ShopRite and cannot arrange for this.  Please contact your local ShopRite store.

Can I do a coin drop or solicit donations outside my local ShopRite?

Questions Relating to Our Registered Dietitians

Are your Registered Dietitians available to individual consultations?
They do individual consultations on a limited basis. Click HERE to fill out a request form and one of the RDs will get in touch to discuss their schedule.

Are your Registered Dietitians available to speak to my group or to do a presentation?
Yes, the RDs love to go into the community to help people understand how food can promote health by nourishing the body, preventing disease, and more.  Fill out a request form HERE.

Questions Relating to Our Donation and Grant Programs

Who is eligible for a Community Connection Donation or Grant?
Following is Our Criteria for Community Connection Support:

  • Organization must be a 501c3 charity and have a tax ID
  • Organizations must serve those located in our geographic focus areas
  • Organization’s mission must fit within one or more of our focus areas (Health, Hunger. Community)

How can I apply for a donation?
We have an on-line donation request portal via Submittable.  You will need to create a free account with Submittable in order to use the portal.

How many times can my organization apply for an in-kind donation or financial grant?
We do not restrict organizations to an annual request limit, however, we do have budgetary considerations, so we suggest outlining known future requests in the additional comments section on the request form.

What types of items do you donate?
We donate in-kind grocery items, gift baskets for raffle, and certain prepared foods.

What if I need a prepared food item not on your list?
If there is something you need that is not on our list of available items, we may give you a ShopRite gift card so that you can order it directly from the store.

Where can I pick up my in-kind donation?
In-kind donations can be picked up at a Zallie-Somerset ShopRite location. The stores are located in Center Square Plaza, Chews Landing, Glassboro, Laurel Hill, Lawnside, Medford, Sicklerville, West Berlin, West Deptford, Williamstown, and Knorr Street in Philadelphia.

Do you provide monetary donations?
Yes, we consider requests for financial grants for organizations whose missions are food insecurity, nutrition insecurity, or nutrition education. A check will be mailed to the organization.

When should I submit my request?
Please submit your support request at least 3 weeks before you need an answer. This will ensure that your request fully makes its way through our review process.

We will not accept letters, forms, mailers, written inquiries or verbal requests in lieu of the online application. Please do not use any prior paper applications or past letters. Due to the high volume of requests for support we receive, only completed online applications will receive a response.

My event is this weekend. How can I expedite the review process?
Due to the level of requests our foundation receives, and our small staff, we are unable to assist short notice requests. Requests are queued as received and reviewed for relevance in relation to our mission. We require at least three weeks for a donation to be processed.

I spoke to a manager/staff at my local ShopRite store.  Do I still have to go online to fill out an application?
The Zallie Community Foundation is separate from ShopRite.  All donation requests must follow the same procedure as listed above to ensure consistency.

I don’t have access to a computer.
Please ask another member of your organization to complete the request. We are unable to process any requests unless fully completed and submitted

I don’t have a letter on organization letterhead.
We will can not accept a request unless it has a flyer, invitation or letter attached. These documents must be from the organization which you represent.

I don’t know my organization’s Tax ID number.
We cannot approve your request without a tax ID number which identifies your organization as a 501c3. It is imperative that we have the correct information for our files to determine the eligibility of the donation.

Can I use a Tax ID number for another organization?
No.  The Tax ID number provided must match the organization for which the request is submitted.
