Zallie Family Markets 50th Anniversary Grants

In honor of Zallie Family Markets’ 50th Anniversary, we provided grants totaling $200,000 to local organizations whose missions include food insecurity, nutrition insecurity, and nutrition education. Twelve organizations were chosen after an extensive grant submission process with many grant applicants.

The Unforgotten Haven received $15,800 to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables which will be distributed at their new Blessing Lot.

Glassboro Child Development Center received $25,000 and will be using the funds to purchase 2 nutrition education carts.

The Migrant Health Collaborative of South Jersey received $6,700

The Migrant Health Collaborative of South Jersey received $6,700 and will use the funds to provide medical supplies and nutritious food to the migrants who work in the South Jersey area.

Rowan University Foundation received $10,000

Rowan University Foundation received $10,000 and will use the grant funds to assist their students in need, especially those who have special dietary specifications.

Small Things Philly received $25,000

Small Things Philly received $25,000 so that they can finish renovating a 103-year old property in North Philadelphia which will soon house a FREE grocery market for those in need.

For The Love of Pete’s Pantry received $25,000

For The Love of Pete’s Pantry received $25,000 to purchase a much-needed cargo van to use for their Treats on the Streets program where they deliver food, clothing, and other necessities to the unhoused in Philadelphia.

South Jersey Dream Center received $15,000

South Jersey Dream Center received $15,000 to purchase commercial glass-door refrigerators and freezers to help them to offer more perishable items to their clients.

Cooper University Healthcare received $25,000
Cooper University Healthcare received $25,000 to fund initiatives including nutrition education and improving food access.
Community Care Food & Clothing Pantry received $15,000
Community Care Food & Clothing Pantry received $15,000 to expand their pantry at the Sicklerville location and to purchase equipment to assist the seniors at Barrington Mews.
Camden County Community College received $10,000
Camden County Community College received $10,000 to support their students who are food insecure.
Christian Caring Center received $15,000
Christian Caring Center received $15,000 to purchase refrigerators to enable them to provide more fresh fruits and vegetables to their clients.
Wholesome Riches received $12,500
Wholesome Riches received $12,500 to support the operation of a food distribution site at a Camden school through their Food Distribution Compassion Project.
